Already assured of finishing top, Catania Women Under 19 took to the pitch this afternoon in Nesima for their final match of the Regional Women’s Juniores Championship, which they won for the second consecutive season. The young Etna-based side earned a 3–0 win over Virtus Marsala thanks to goals from Miriam Milazzo, Ginevra Buscemi and Rebecca Taranto. Catania’s campaign in the group stage ended with five wins from six matches, as well as the best attack and best defence (14 goals scored, 2 conceded). Massimiliano Borbone, head of the women’s department at Catania Football Club, said: “The trophy we won today is a well-deserved reward for our girls, for coach Andrea Massimino and for an entire team that works every day with dedication and enthusiasm, in synergy with the first team. Thanks to this title we will be able to keep striving to improve, also through participation in the national phase, another important test.”
