After a long break caused by the postponement of fixtures due to international duty, Catania Women returned to action and claimed their thirteenth win of the season, their seventh in a row, deservedly holding on to top spot in the table: the rossazzurre won 4-0 away to Virtus Marsala. For the side coached by Silvestro Reitano, who boast the best attack and the best defence in the group, this was their seventh away victory. In the first half, Liselle Palts found the net with a fine strike from outside the box set up by Mari Liis Lillemäe; after the break came Kristina Teern’s finish, following Flavia Sgambato’s effort against the post, Lara Vacchino’s goal at the end of a fine move by Carlotta Sciuto, and Sgambato’s converted penalty, awarded for a foul on Martinelli. On Wednesday, March 18, Catania will host Salernitana at Nesima.
