Catania Women’s run in the regular season of Group D of the Women’s Serie C championship, completed in first place with 49 points from 20 matches played, ended with their first draw of the season: an entertaining 3-3 against Lecce at Nesima.
The rossazzurre went ahead twice through Chiara Barbarino and Lara Vacchino, the latter scoring from the penalty spot, and on both occasions were pegged back by the Salento side through D’Amico, who bagged a brace (with the 2-2 also coming from the spot). Ingrosso then put the giallorosse ahead, but Catania goalkeeper Viola Orlando restored parity with a splendid header in the closing stages of stoppage time.
The team coached by Silvestro Reitano will play their next match on Sunday, May 3, kicking off at 3:30 p.m., away to Nuova Alba, in a one-off fixture valid for the semifinal of the 2025/2026 Women’s Serie C Coppa Italia.
