Catania Football Club announces that it has definitively acquired from the U.S. Catanzaro the rights to the sports performances of the player Luca Verna, who has signed a multi-year contract with our club until June 30, 2026, with an option for the 2026/27 season.
In the last four seasons, with the Calabrian team, the midfielder has played 152 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists, achieving his fourth promotion to Serie B in 2023 and a Serie C Supercup; in the just-concluded season, spent among the cadets in yellow and red, he reached the playoff semifinals for Serie A.
Born on June 21, 1993, in Lanciano (Chieti), with Virtus Lanciano he completed his football development and achieved his first of three promotions to Serie B through the playoffs in 2012; both the other promotions were with Pisa, in 2016 and 2019.
In the second division, the midfielder has played for the black and blues, Carpi, and Cosenza; in Serie C, he has also worn the shirts of Ternana, Grosseto, and Chieti (his only experience in the Second Division, over two years).
Overall, he has played 404 games and scored 30 goals in official professional competitions.
