Catania Football Club accepts the sanction imposed by the Sports Judge following the disturbances recorded at the "Euganeo" stadium and, therefore, will not appeal against the ruling that orders the closure of the "Angelo Massimino" stadium during the Catania-Padova match, scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd.
We want to inspire the community of Catania and allow it to be proud of the values of the club, which in this case deeply influence our choice.
The first of these values is the respect we have for the institutions, for the law enforcement that generously works so that everyone can participate in the celebration of sports, for all the people offended by hooliganism and for the disappointed rossazzurri fans, for the families who want to experience the stadium with joy and carefreeness, for the rules, and for football.
Today, despite the absolute certainty of having done everything that can be requested from a club in terms of behavior and organization, we give up one of our rights to concretely condemn violence, to offer an example with a strong and clear signal, to give a reason for pride to those who will appreciate this ethical choice: courageously, we face the sporting and economic consequences of the objective responsibility outlined by the Sports Judge.
