Catania Football Club announces that it has acquired the right to the sports performance of the footballer Antonio Mazzotta, born in Palermo on August 2, 1989.
He completed his football growth in the club of his hometown, becoming the Italian Spring Champion in 2008/09. In 2009/10, the left winger won promotion to Serie A with Lecce thanks to first place in the cadet tournament, lived in the following four seasons first with Pescara and with Crotone from 2011 to 2014. After his debuts in the top flight with Cesena, he returned to Serie B in January 2015 with Calcio Catania: in rossazzurro, his performances were appreciated. In 2016 he gained the second promotion to Serie A of his career, with Pescara through the playoffs. Further experiences in Serie B with Frosinone, again with the Abruzzo club and with Palermo. Afterwards, another two years in Crotone, enhanced by his third personal promotion to Serie A. In the last two years, he was one of the protagonists of Bari's rise, landing from C to B first and reaching the playoff final in 2022/23, one step away from conquering a place in the Olympus of national football. At the start of his career, Mazzotta also wore the shirts of the Under 20 and Under 21 national teams. In Italian professional competitions, the defender counts 358 appearances, 12 of which in Serie A and 309 in Serie B.
