From the semi-final played yesterday to the final for third place played today, Catania's under-20 beach soccer team certainly cannot be said to be lucky, having suffered their second consecutive defeat on penalties in the Coppa Italia. The lowest step of the podium in the competition that awards the tricolor cockade seemed particularly close, halfway through the second half of the match against Lazio, thanks to goals from Sebastiano Di Stefano and Maurizio Giuffrida. The red and blue double lead, however, was canceled out by goals from Lorenzo Racaniello and Christian Saba.
In the final series, the mistakes of Pola and the two Etna markers allowed the Biancocelesti to go beyond D'Agostino's failed transformation and conquer third place.
